Setting a page background allows you to decide on a background color on a page level — instead of having to configure it for each block individually. This allows you to be more consistent with your brand identity while saving you time during the creation process. ⚡️

What is a page background?
With a page background, you can set a background color for all of the content on your page. This means there will be an underlying page layer behind every block.
There are two ways to set this up:
-
Make it a part of your Brand Kit or brand settings 🎨
When you set a page background in your Brand Kit, all new Foleon Docs will automatically have this background color that will be visible behind each page. if you want to save time and improve your brand's consistency across all content, this is the way to go.
-
Set it on a page level from your canvas 📄
Do you want to set a page background for one page only? That's possible from the canvas. This might be useful when you have a design in mind for one specific page but don't want to apply it to the rest of your content.
Read on to learn how to do this.
Set a page background in your Brand Kit
In your Brand Kit, scroll down to the page section and pick a brand color to be the default background. As you see in the preview page on the left, the background color changes. Make sure to save your changes.
From now on, every new Foleon Doc that you create will have this background color set for pages.
In your Doc, you can always change your page background in the brand settings to override what you've set in your Brand Kit. Read on to learn how to set a page background for just one page.
💡When you add a template to your Foleon Doc (e.g. page or block), they will also adopt the brand color you've set. This means that the templates will adjust automatically to your Brand Kit setup.
Set a page background on your canvas
When you're on the canvas, navigate your cursor above your page's content — just below the top bar of your content editor.
A page settings bar will appear. Click on the cogwheel icon and go to background. From there, you can set a background color for the relevant page.
Current limitations
At the moment, it's only possible to set a background color for your page. In the future, we will also make it possible to set a background image for your page. This will allow you to create the so-called parallax effect on a page level.
