The element height setting enables you to create consistent card-like layouts — by aligning elements horizontally across columns. This layout is useful for pages that feature a product catalog or a Meet the team section, just to give you an example.
💡This setting is only available when you're working in the Content Studio, not the Content Builder. Learn here what the difference is.
In the example below, you see that each of the three columns has a slightly different text length. This results in the purple Learn more buttons not being aligned horizontally.
To ensure that these buttons are on the same level, we can use the element height setting.
To align the buttons, we need to allow the three text elements to take up the remaining space in the column.
First, open the element settings for the first text element.
Next, click height.
Open the dropdown menu and select column space available. This forces the text element to take up all of the remaining space in the column.
Repeat this process for the other two text elements. ⚠️ Because all three elements take up all of the remaining space, the buttons are neatly aligned.
Good to know: the height setting is only relevant on the desktop view mode, as the columns are placed next to each other. On the tablet and mobile view modes, columns are placed below each other. When you use element height, we make sure that you don't need to take any additional steps on these view modes.
