1. Plan
-
What do you want to create?
Define content goals, plan ideas, and draft an outline for your first Doc. What content type are you creating? How do you want your audience to read through your Doc? -
Get the brand together
Gather your brand colors, fonts, and visuals — everything you need to make your brand shine. If you have a company brand guide, that's a good place to start. - Build your Brand Kit With a Brand Kit, you easily apply your company’s brand to your Foleon Docs. Pre-set fonts, colors, and element styling so you can stay on-brand in every Doc. This is an essential step in the planning process.
💡 Already start thinking about the technical setup. Who do you need to set up a custom domain? What about Google Analytics? Do you need to integrate with tools you already use?
2. Create
-
Start with a Doc template
Select the content type that fits your needs best. Choose from our expert-designed templates (e.g. annual report, newsletter, case study...) -
Add pages or blocks from a template
Remove or add pages and blocks to change your Doc template. The good thing is, with these templates, they all fit together and work on every device (desktop, tablet, and mobile). -
Insert your content
Make the templates your own:- Write captivating copy for titles, body text, and CTAs
- Implement branded images and videos
- Finetune navigation, so your audience reads your Doc effortlessly
3. Publish
-
Review and get approval
Review your Foleon Doc with relevant stakeholders, make necessary revisions, and perform a final quality check before publishing. -
Finalize the technical setup
- Check project settings, Foleon Doc settings, and page settings
- Set up Google Analytics (GA4)
- Set up your custom domain
- Set up your Martech integration (optional)
-
Publish your content
Finished your content? Time to hit that publish button! This means you set it live on the domain that you've set up. You can republish your content as frequently as you like to; however small the change may be.
4. Promote
-
Promote internally
You've worked hard on your first Foleon Doc, so it makes sense you want to share it with your team! Celebrate your content and show the power of this new format — you might get more colleagues on board. -
Distribute externally
Creating compelling Foleon Docs is only half the battle. If your content isn’t distributed for maximum reach, it runs the risk of getting lost among the many pieces of content you publish and never truly taking off. Read our article 22 tips for distributing your Foleon Doc.
💡 Before you start to optimize, you'll have to wait for actionable insights. This might take a few weeks.
5. Optimize
-
Dive into the analytics
Foleon Analytics or Google Analytics provide you with actionable insights on your content’s performance. They allow you to analyze how your content performs and collect learnings to improve your next piece. -
Finetune your Doc
Adapt and refresh your Doc to make an even better impression. If readers were dropping off before the last few important sections then perhaps it needs trimming. If the CTA wasn’t effective, try a different approach. -
Save as a Doc template
You've created a Foleon Doc that ticks all the boxes, and now can use it as a starting point for new compelling content. By saving your Doc as a template, you start new on-brand content with just a few clicks. -
Repurpose your content
Repurpose your Foleon Doc and present it in a new format to expand its reach and lifespan. For example, cut up your Doc into smaller pieces and present it as a carousel on LinkedIn.
You're only getting started! 💪 Time for your second Foleon Doc? It only gets easier.
