You can save pages, overlays, and blocks as templates to reuse them in your Foleon Docs. As an admin or designer, you can share specific templates across all workspaces. You then make sure other users create on-brand content while saving time. In this article, we show you how to share your templates.
💡Workspaces are not included in every plan. If you want to use this functionality, contact your Customer Success Manager or success@foleon.com.
How do shared templates work?
With shared templates, users across all workspaces can use templates that designers or admins have shared.
If you use a shared template, you'll ensure your Foleon Docs are on-brand with approved content. It also enables you to work more independently, with less review time from your brand owner.
⚠️ Shared templates are different from workspace templates. In this template library, users save templates that only their workspaces can use.
Depending on your user role, you use shared templates in different ways:

As an admin or designer
As an admin or designer, you share templates across all workspaces. This makes sure other users create on-brand content while saving time.

As an editor or publisher
In the shared templates library, these users will find templates that have been shared across all workspaces. They can use its contents in your Foleon Doc to save time and stay on-brand. No shared folders yet? Let your admin or designer know that sharing is caring.
How to share a template
Let's say you want users across all workspaces to use the same welcome page for each Foleon Doc. You can create a page template named "Welcome", share it, and make it part of the shared templates. With this action, you ensure all users have easy access to the correct template.
💡 Only admins and designers can share a template — one at a time.
In the GIF above, we follow these steps to share a folder:

Select a template on the workspace templates page.

Click on the green Share button on the right-hand side of the screen.

We will then ask you to confirm — click on Share again.

You've now successfully shared your template with users across all workspace. You'll now find it on the workspace templates, and shared templates pages with a green shared icon.
When you share a folder, no other users will be notified. You can always unshare the folder later to undo this action.
How to unshare a template
If you unshare a template, it will no longer be available across all workspaces in the shared template library — yet remains in your workspace template library.
⚠️ You can only unshare one folder at a time.
In the GIF above, we follow these steps to unshare a template:

Select a shared template on the workspace or shared template pages

Click on the blue Unshare button on the right-hand side of the screen

We will then ask you to confirm — click on Unshare again

You've now successfully unshared your template. The template will remain on your workspace templates page.
